Bathroom planning · Collect from APM
A wall-hung toilet starts with what sits behind the wall. Choosing the frame before the bathroom is boarded and tiled gives your installer time to plan the support, pipework and future access properly.
The GROHE Rapid SL 3-in-1 Wall-Hung WC Frame Set 1130mm is a useful starting point for that conversation: a concealed frame-and-cistern arrangement with a chrome flush plate and wall brackets.
Quick shop: confirm the set, then collect
Model 3877220A · 1130mm installation height. Match this code with your installer’s specification. This is a frame set, not a complete toilet: plan a compatible wall-hung pan and seat separately.
What it brings to your bathroom
A clearer finish. Concealing the cistern leaves the pan and flush plate as the main visible elements. That can make a bathroom feel less visually crowded, although the boxing still takes up space: judge the finished wall position, not just the frame itself.
Easier cleaning around the toilet. With a suitable wall-hung pan fitted, the floor beneath is accessible without a pedestal in the way. The benefit comes from the completed layout, so consider the pan’s projection and surrounding clearances as well.
Fewer separate choices at the start. A coordinated frame, cistern, plate and bracket package reduces the initial matching work. It does not remove the need to check the pan, connections, structural fixings and wall build-up for your particular bathroom.

Bring these checks to the collection conversation
- The room: bring measurements and photographs showing the proposed WC position, soil pipe and water supply.
- The finished surfaces: allow for flooring, boarding and tiles. The stated installation height is not the toilet’s seat height.
- The support: have your installer confirm the wall and floor structure and the correct fixing arrangement before buying.
- The pan and servicing: confirm compatibility and preserve the manufacturer’s required access. Concealed should not mean inaccessible.
UK installation: plan compliance, not assumptions
Use a competent installer and the instructions for the exact GROHE model. For work in England, Approved Document H provides guidance on foul-water drainage. Moving a WC can affect the drainage design; ask whether your project needs building-control involvement.
For England and Wales, the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations, Schedule 2 paragraph 25 address WC flushing arrangements and volumes. Cistern capacity is not permission to use that amount for a flush. Have the installer verify the pan-and-cistern combination and lawful settings; Scotland and Northern Ireland have separate requirements. A branded frame does not certify the whole installation.
